After embarking on the road to home ownership in 1997 and hearing stories from family and friends experience in home purchase and sales, it became clear:
Purchasing or selling a home can be overwhelming and finding a real estate agent who treats each person and transaction with care, professionalism, and integrity regardless of budget or type of transaction is difficult to find.
In 2005 while working in administration at a skilled nursing facility I decided to become a real estate agent. I studied and took the real estate exam and passed. While I continued to work in skilled nursing, I was able to deliver exceptional service to my clients. In my nearly 20 years as an agent, I have had the privilege of representing clients in some of the most challenging times and real estate transactions including, short sales, probate, double contingency sales as well as life changing experiences such as divorce.
In 2022, I decided to close the chapter on my 42-year career in the skilled nursing industry and pursue my dream of becoming a real estate broker.

In 2016, my passion for real estate led me to invest. As a new real estate investor, I had numerous questions and very few answers. Finding the right agent became crucial in my journey, they were as important, if not more than, locating the right property. Unfortunately, many agents were too busy to return calls, answer questions, or understand my needs as a client. It became apparent that some prioritized profit over the interests of those they represented.
These experiences, along with my desire to learn and assist others, motivated me to become the agent I wished I found when I started my buyers journey.
For most people, a home is the largest and most impactful purchase they'll make in their lifetime. Such a significant milestone should never be treated merely as a transaction.

My name is Latasha Ooten. In 2005 I began my professional voyage in the dynamic world of loan origination and became well-versed in the intricacies of mortgage processes. My tenure in the loan origination sector laid the foundation for a profound understanding of the financial aspects that streamline the transaction to a successful close.
In 2014 I was seeking a new challenge and the opportunity arose to embark on a new industry. I began on a transformative path into the realm of skilled nursing managing the business office. Within the skilled nursing industry, I've had the privilege to navigate the financial complexities of health administration. Armed with an amalgamation of experiences from both loan origination and healthcare administration I am now able to embark on this remarkable journey of being a partner of Henderson Woods Realty.
